City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> June 7, 1999 <br /> DISCUSSION OF 1999 TRAIL CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS: <br /> Rick reviewed the proposed trail projects which include the <br /> following: <br /> 1 . Lilac Avenue from Mustang Lane to Appaloosa Lane <br /> Approximately 1, 400 feet . Sub-base already <br /> prepared with completion estimate of $8, 000 . <br /> 2 . Rice Lake Estates trail to Baldwin Park <br /> This trail was completed last month. Park dedication <br /> dollars were allocated in 1998 for this trail segment . <br /> 3 . Trail West of Linda Lane <br /> An existing trail was constructed outside of the trail <br /> easement . This will require removing a portion of the <br /> trail and constructing the trail in its proper <br /> location. The estimated cost is $5, 000 . <br /> 4 . Marshan Park Trail <br /> The trail should be completed in the next year or <br /> two. The estimated cost is $5, 000 . <br /> 5 . Trail Restoration and Repair <br /> There are number of trail segments in need of repair. <br /> This includes 8-10 culverts that have heaved and will <br /> need to be replaced due to safety issues . <br /> Rick noted the Park Board has designated $20, 000 for the park <br /> dedication fund and there is $15, 000 from the general fund. <br /> Rick reviewed other pending trail projects which include the <br /> following: <br /> 1 . Trappers Crossing to Birch Park <br /> Rick advised he has been in contact with the property <br /> owner' s attorney regarding the acquisition of land to <br /> proceed with this trail connection. A response <br /> regarding whether or not the property owner is willing <br /> to negotiate has not yet been received. <br /> 2 . Mallard Lane <br /> Rick stated he is currently working with Anoka County <br /> Parks and Recreation in designing a trail segment from <br /> Mallard Lane to the Regional Parks Reserve trail <br /> system. A decision regarding the DNR Grant for trail <br /> 5 <br />
