City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> July 6, 1999 <br /> Paul Montain made a motion, seconded by Jeff Reinert, to accept <br /> the $500 park dedication per lot for the five lots for a total of <br /> $2 , 500, designated for Highland Meadows Park. The motion passed <br /> unanimously. <br /> CONSIDERATION OF INSTALLING PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT - LAMOTTE PARK: <br /> Rick advised a petition for the installation of playground <br /> equipment, benches, and picnic tables for LaMotte Park was <br /> submitted at the June Park Board meeting. This petition was <br /> signed by residents representing 29 households in the LaMotte <br /> Park area. <br /> Rick said he has also received some phone calls from area <br /> residents who would prefer that LaMotte Park remain an <br /> undeveloped park area. <br /> Rick suggested sending a survey to all area residents to <br /> determine what type of amenities are desired for this park if the <br /> Park Board wishes to explore the possibility of developing <br /> LaMotte Park. This may include playground equipment, horseshoes, <br /> sand volleyball, park benches and trees, or no improvements . <br /> Rick entered into the record etters from two residents that <br /> express concern regarding the development of LaMotte Park. The <br /> first letter was from Francis and Sally Timmer, 1541 LaMotte <br /> Drive. The second was from Horst and Margot Franke, 6941 LaMotte <br /> Drive. <br /> Pat Huelman made a motion, seconded by Paul Montain, to accept <br /> the letters into the record. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Ms . Wendy Roland, 1554 LaMotte Circle, came forward and stated <br /> she moved into her home in 1988 . She has been waiting a long <br /> time to have a play area for children. She stated she submitted <br /> a petition signed by 29 households requesting a play area. There <br /> were only 4-5 families in the area that did not sign the <br /> petition. <br /> She continued stating she must drive 1/4 of a mile to go to a <br /> playground. She asked the Park Board to consider installing <br /> playground equipment at LaMotte Park. <br /> Chair Lindy noted that the letters entered into the record <br /> regarding the installation bring up very good points . <br /> 2 <br />
