City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> July 6, 1999 <br /> n <br /> $28, 000 with the remaining $7, 000 for site prep, wood fiber and <br /> border coming from dedicated park funds. <br /> Jeff asked if the City will need to fund any of the development <br /> if costs are more than $75, 000 . Rick stated the developer is <br /> responsible for the development costs even if the costs go over <br /> $75, 000 . <br /> RECREATION DEPARTMENT UPDATE: <br /> Rick referred to the Parks and Recreation Department update for <br /> June, 1998 that reviewed the Program Highlights . <br /> Rick noted that over 200 children are registered in the <br /> playground program this summer. The response to the $25 fee has <br /> been very positive. <br /> Rick stated that 96 children are enrolled in the Soccer <br /> Fundamentals program. Participants are learning basic skills and <br /> techniques as well as experiencing game play and teamwork. <br /> The new Options program with the YMCA is going well . There is an <br /> energetic group of children in this program and the summer is <br /> proving to be a valuable learning experience for everyone. <br /> The early season rain has raised havoc in the T-Ball program, but <br /> the volunteer coaches have been outstanding. <br /> Registration for the Fall Soccer Program have begun. The location <br /> of games may change due to turf restoration at Rice Lake <br /> Elementary. <br /> Over 90 children are registered for the annual Safety Camp that <br /> teaches 3rd grade graduates about safety issues . <br /> There have been five Party Wagon parties to date. The wagon has <br /> been reserved for many weekends from June - September. In <br /> addition, people have been contacting the office for 2000 <br /> reservation dates . <br /> PARKS DEPARTMENT UPDATE: <br /> Rick reviewed a memo from Mike Hoffman, Parks Supervisor, which <br /> summarizes the maintenance highlights for June, 1999 . <br /> Rick noted that the Maintenance Department continues to work on <br /> Marshan Park playground and Arena Acres playground.
