City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> July 6, 1999 <br /> number of back ordered parts these projects are not yet complete. <br /> The back ordered parts should be arriving shortly and will be <br /> installed shortly thereafter. <br /> The Parks Department is caught up on weekly mowing and trimming <br /> of all parks . The Department has also spent a lot of time on the <br /> landscaping of Town Center site tree planting, establishing <br /> grade, and sodding. <br /> OLD BUSINESS• <br /> None <br /> NEW BUSINESS• <br /> Wenzel Farms Trail Clearing - Rick advised the necessary trail <br /> easements were acquired this past winter. The City Council has <br /> allocated funds for the tree clearing within the trails easement . <br /> Apparently, this past weekend approximately six additional Poplar <br /> Trees fell on the trail . The tree contractor has indicated there <br /> will be an additional $2, 000 fee for removal of these trees. <br /> Rick asked the Park Board to consider an additional $2, 000 from <br /> Park Dedication funds to clear the trees so the project will not <br /> be delayed. <br /> Chair Lindy stated he received an estimate of $145 per tree for <br /> tree removal on his property. He stated he is in favor of <br /> authorizing $2 , 000 for additional tree removal so the project can <br /> proceed. However, he would like to receive other bids for the <br /> tree removal . <br /> Rick advised he will visit the site and determine a fair cost . <br /> He will also investigate the possibility of Park personnel <br /> removing the trees. <br /> Paul Montain made a motion, seconded by Pat Huelman, to authorize <br /> the additional tree removal at Wenzel Farms not to exceed $2, 000 <br /> and staff should look at other options . Motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> Rick noted there are a number of Chinese Elm Trees that are <br /> apparently within park land at the Lake Drive access . The City <br /> may have to look at removing these trees to eliminate the <br /> possibility of future damage that may occur to the townhouses . <br /> Joint Meeting with the Hugo Park Board, Washington County, Anoka <br /> County, and Lino Lakes - Chair Lindy stated the City of Hugo has <br /> 7 <br />
