City of Lino Lakes
Park Board Meeting
March 1, 1999
Pat stated he feels better about the parcel and timeline for the
project . He stated the trail to the western edge to the existing
trail jogs across the street for two lots to join the trail .
Because the street will be a major feeder street, he would prefer
the trail be lined up for safety reasons .
Chair Lindy stated he sees the value of the trail system. He is
concerned however, of trails being graded and installed with
aggregate and then losing them - due to erosion because they
cannot be paved.
Paul Montain made a motion, seconded by Joe Schmidt, to move
forward with the preliminary plat for Clearwater Creek 3rd
Addition with the above mentioned concerns . The motion passed.
Discussion of Arndorfer Property Subdivision - Rick stated the
City has received the survey for the property at the north/east
corner of Holly Drive and 12th Avenue . He stated that Mr. Smyer
is meeting with the developer this week.
n It is clear that a trail is needed on the west side of the
property along 12th Avenue. Rick indicated he will ask that the
trail be incorporated into the plat . Further site evaluation
will determine if the trail could be located within the right-of-
way along 12th Avenue .
Paul added that a trial that ties into Trapper' s Crossing to tie
into the trail system to Birch Park would also be desirable .
It was the consensus of the Park Board that Rick will request a
trail along 12th Avenue from the developer.
_PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT REVIEW - MARSHAN PARK AND ARENA ACRES PARK:
Rick stated the playground equipment proposals for Marshan Park
and Arena Acres Park are available for review immediately after
tonight' s meeting. Rick reviewed the dates and times that the
proposals will be on display at the Parks and Recreation
Department through Friday, March 5, 1999 .
Rick noted he has already received phone calls from neighborhood
residents interested in installing the playground equipment . The
playground installations are tentatively scheduled for sometime
between May and July, 1999 .
Rick noted he is hoping to ask the Council to award the bids at
the next Council meeting.
5
