City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> March 1, 1999 <br /> RECREATION DEPARTMENT UPDATE: <br /> Rick referred to the Program Highlights Flyer from February, <br /> 1999 . He stated that if any of the Board members have any <br /> questions to call him at the Parks Department . <br /> Employment Flyer - Rick referred to a hand out that lists the <br /> Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department Summer Part-time <br /> Positions . The hand out also lists the approximate dates and <br /> days of employment, hours per week, and hourly salary range. <br /> Rick reviewed the Warminghouse season ending report from Barry <br /> Bernstein, Recreation Program Supervisor. He noted the skating <br /> season was reduced again this season due to weather. <br /> Rick stated that staff is working with the Circle-Lex Lions <br /> regarding a party wagon. The Circle-Lex Lions have committed <br /> almost $11, 000 for a party wagon that will be available to <br /> residents . The wagon will contain tables, chairs, and various <br /> sports equipment . Staff is developing an implementation plan <br /> and the party wagon should be available for use beginning June 1, <br /> 1999 . <br /> PARKS DEPARTMENT UPDATE: <br /> Rick reviewed a memo from Mike Hoffman, Parks Supervisor, which <br /> summarizes the maintenance highlights for February, 1999 . Rick <br /> mentioned that staff is currently reviewing the status of all <br /> bleachers throughout the park system. Ten bleachers are not <br /> compliant with existing safety standards . Paul asked about money <br /> from the budget being spent for bleacher safety. Rick stated <br /> that he hopes to have bleacher safety funded from another source. <br /> The approximate cost to upgrade the bleachers within the City is <br /> $25, 000 . <br /> OLD BUSINESS• <br /> 1999 Goals -Rick referred to a list of the 1999 Goals for the <br /> Parks Department that were determined earlier in the year. <br /> Inline Skate Board Ramps - Rick stated the School District is <br /> receptive to pursuing the concept regarding the possibility of <br /> locating some skate board ramps at the Centennial Middle School . <br /> Rick indicated he does not believe one ramp would be effective in <br /> providing an opportunity for residents to enjoy the ramps . He <br /> n recommended providing a combination of ramps not to exceed <br /> $10, 000 . <br /> 6 <br />
