City of Lino Lakes
Park Board Meeting
December 7, 1998
installed at the new Shenandoah Trail segment . Rick also noted
that the Rice Lake Estates playground equipment was installed and
weather permitting the border and pea rock will be installed this
week.
Chair Lindy asked about the paving schedule regarding Rice Lake
Estates . Rick stated the paving at Rick Lake Estates will be a
spring project .
Chair Lindy asked about the fence that was installed at the new
Shenandoah Trail segment . Rick stated the fence was approved at
the last Park Board meeting. A cyclone fence was placed along
the side of the resident' s property. A wooden fence will be
installed along the back of the property next spring.
Paul asked about any signage that needs to be installed along the
trail segment . Rick stated that signage relating to the entire
trail system may be a winter project .
1998 Parks Accomplishments/Improvements - Rick reviewed a list of
the 1998 Parks Accomplishments/Improvements . He noted that four
new playground installs were completed and the work was done
mostly in-house. Other accomplishments included creating a park
naming ordinance. A new parks and recreation timesheets and
vandalism report/tracking system has also been created. There is
a new policy for snow plowing trails and a parks and trail system
guide map was developed.
Paul asked about the soccer fields at Centennial Middle School .
Rick stated the fields there are not in the best shape . The
entire 24 acre athletic field area will be re-seeded in the
spring. Proper re-seeding should create better turf for the
athletic fields .
Joe asked if the fence at Baldwin Lake has been installed. Rick
stated the fence has not yet been installed. He indicated he
will be meeting with the new property owner this winter.
Chair Lindy stated a lot has been accomplished within the Parks
this year with very little means to do it with. He commended
Rick' s department for their accomplishments .
OLD BUSINESS•
,. None .
3
