CITY OF LINO LAKES PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT
18. You may watch T.V., but if the supervisor feels that it
interferes with your duties, that privilege could be taken away at
any time. A radio is allowed as long as it is not too loud. Some
people may complain about the noise.
19. After hour emergency phone numbers are:
Barry Bernstein - Parks and Recreation Supervisor - (home)
933-1922 (beeper) 648-3178. (To use the beeper, punch in the
number where you are calling from after you hear 3 beeps, and
I will get back to you right away.
Marty Asleson - Superintendent of Parks, Recreation and
Forestry (home 429-3356)
Mike Hoffman - Assistant Forester (home 785-2475)
DUTIES OF ATTENDANTS
1. Generally supervise the conduct of persons on the rink area and
in the warming house. The rink attendant should be courteous to the
public at all times. If you cannot handle a severe situation, call
the police. The attendant must use good judgement in determining
when the police are needed. In less severe cases, report the
individual's name and the incident to the Parks and Recreation
Department. We will try to resolve the problem, and if necessary
refer them to the police department. Remember, your first
responsibilities are the welfare of the skater and the property
under your supervision. Be patient and flexible. Expect parents and
coaches not to be aware of all the policies and try to understand.
2. It is not our intention that skaters be banned from any of our
rinks, but it may be necessary in extreme situations where
discipline is needed. In these cases, the rink attendant after
seeing that the disruptive child leaves the rink, warming house or
immediate area, should telephone the parent and explain the
situation and the measures you took. A child should not be banned
for more than 24 hours. The attendant must record in the daily log
book, the child's name, the action taken and for what reason, and
whether or not the parent's were notified. Severe cases should
immediately be referred to Barry Bernstein.
3. Attendants jackets must be worn on the outside of your clothing
at all times while on duty.
4. Do not allow roughhousing or dangerous games to be played on the
rinks.
5
