CITY OF LINO LAKES PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT
5. Do not allow smoking and/or drinking of alcoholic beverages in
the warming house. Alcohol is not allowed in City Parks.
6. Restrict hockey playing to hockey rinks and keep general skating
on the general rinks. (figure skates, i/e/, toe picks are allowed
on the general rink only.)
7. Periodically inspect the rink area to see that there is no
glass, paper, rocks or other debris on the ice that could cause an
accident.
8. Administer first aid if necessary in cases of minor injuries.
IMPORTANT - In case of a serious accident, keep the injured person
lying flat and well covered. Then send an adult to call: Dial 911.
NOTE - IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO PAY AT A PAY PHONE WHEN YOU CALL 911
9. Dogs are not allowed in the warming.
10. Attendants will operate and regulate the furnace and lights -
turning them down according to hours, etc. Do not leave an
abundance of rink lights on when the rink is not being used due to
excessive cold, heavy snow, warm weather, etc. Thermostats should
be set no higher than 65 degrees when open and turned down to 60
degrees when closing.
11. Attendants must be on duty at all times during inclement
weather, unless otherwise notified. A good rule to follow is -
Warming Houses will be closed if the wind chill temperature is 30
degrees below zero or colder and/or more than 2 inches of snowfall.
However, if you are ever in doubt, always check with the Parks and
Recreation Department to see if you are expected to work. During
warm "ice melting" weather, keep people, goals, etc. off the ice.
Pick up pieces of paper, sticks and foreign debris. Do not turn the
rink lights on during "ice melting" weather, this encourages people
to use the ice. During cold or snowy weather when no skaters are in
attendance, still leave one rink light on to demonstrate the
building is available.
12. Attendants shall sweep and keep the warming house picked up and
in order at all times, including the areas around the outside of
the building.
13. Attendants shall not allow swearing or vulgarity of any kind in
the warming house or on the rink.
14. There shall be no card playing or dancing , or any other such
activities in the warming house. Youth hockey teams will often
provide treats for their players following a game. Although
permissible, they should also be responsible for clean-up of the
premises.
6
