• Community participation and interaction shall be <br />held as the principal method to effectively interpret <br />the needs and desires of the community. Parks and <br />recreation related issues shall be presented to the <br />community, as opposed to waiting for community to <br />generate the issues. Regularly scheduled public <br />meetings shall be undertaken by the Parks & <br />Recreation Board at appropriate intervals in which <br />City residents are brought "up-to-date" on pertinent <br />issues and development projects. <br />• The formation of athletic/youth/civic groups shall be <br />promoted to assist in the continued development of <br />recreation programs and facilities. <br />Participation sessions/meetings between City <br />residents/special interest groups and the Parks & <br />Recreation Board shall be undertaken when <br />appropriate for the purpose of discussing specific <br />park development projects and issues. Residents and <br />the Parks & Recreation Board shall work together to <br />define what park facilities and programs are desired, <br />what can be provided, and what they (residents) can <br />do to assist i.e.: "Adopt -A -Park"). <br />Participation sessions/meetings between <br />athletic/youth/civic groups and the Parks & <br />Recreation Board shall be undertaken when <br />appropriate to define their seasonal <br />recreational/community program needs. <br />• Volunteerism shall be promoted through the <br />development of various volunteer programs (i.e., <br />Adopt -A -Park, etc.) <br />Interaction (Partnership) between the Local School <br />Districts, Adjacent Cities, Anoka County, <br />Churches, Civic Organizations, and the City of <br />Lino Lakes (Facilities and Programs) <br />Goal• <br />Maximize the recreational opportunities available to City <br />residents through the development of a fair and equitable <br />working partnership between the local school districts, <br />adjacent cities, Dakota County, churches, civic <br />organizations, and the City of Lino Lakes. <br />Objectives: <br />• Fair and equitable integration of the City of Lino <br />Lakes's Park System facilities with those of the other <br />members of the partnership. <br />Fair and equitable integration of the City of Lino <br />Lakes's Park System programs with those of the <br />other members of the partnership. <br />.-.
