.1 <br />wide drainage with curb and'gutter, and improved streets <br />and roads should be encouraged in all residential areas <br />developed prior to 1980. <br />Recommendation No. 19. For areas where curb exists, the <br />city should implement a boulevard beautification <br />program. <br />Recommendation No. 20.. Use park dedication money from <br />nearby new subdivisions to improve park_ facilities in <br />established neighborhoods. <br />Recommendation No. 21. Require the city planner and city <br />building official to prepare an amend report for review <br />by the economic development committee, design review <br />board. economic development authority, and city council <br />of the general condition of the city's housing stock. <br />Changes over the last calendar year should be noted and <br />recommendations for changes in ordinances or city policy <br />should be made where appropriate. <br />Goal 3. To increase Lino Lake's supply of custom built homes, <br />providing the city a good mix of residential housing <br />opportunities. <br />Policy 3A. Provide development opportunities for higher -value <br />single family homes. <br />Recommendation No. 22. Reserve areas on the south shore <br />of Reshanau Lake for the R-1X Single Family Executive <br />housing district. <br />Policy 3B. Provide R-1X housing opportunities in parts of the <br />city other than Birch Street. <br />Recommendation No. 23. Increase the number of R-1X lots <br />on the city's east side. <br />Recommendation No. 24. Extend sewer and water utilities <br />to the high amenity area north of Main Street and west <br />of Lake Drive. <br />Goal 4. To maintain and promote home designs that show better <br />curb appeal especially with "general market" housing. <br />Policy 4A. Educate builders regarding city desires to build a <br />quality community. <br />Recommendation No. 25. Continue the annual Builder's Day <br />meetings. <br />Recommendation No. 26. Provide developers and builders <br />with cooperative promotional material emphasizing Lino <br />Lakes as being a quality community. <br />Page 21 <br />
