the plan is to finish up Birch Park before they start work on
another park. The playground equipment will be the next
purchase and the picnic shelters will be the last addition to
complete the park. Ray Johnson asked for input from those
neighbors in attendance. All of the comments were positive,
and all expressed a desire to help in the construction when
the time comes.
Land Acquisition - Marty explained that plans for adding
the 1.5 acres to Birch Park are moving along. The stakes and
irons are in the ground, and all the papers are with the city
attorney for finalization.
Budget Analysis - Marty discussed the budget for Birch
Park. Don Volk added that this was probably good that the
park board could see and review the costs of Birch Park so
they will have an idea of costs when planning for future
parks.
Other Old Business:
Marty had the appraisal of the two Rice Lake Estates lots .
They both were appraised at $21,000.00 . He explained that
the lease agreement was at Circle Pines now and that it
,^ should be brought up at their next park board meeting. Ray
Johnson asked that we have all the follow up information for
the next meeting as it would be a good idea to get the lots
on the market for next Spring.
Before moving on to New Business, Ray Johnson recommended to
those on the board who may not have had a chance to see
Sunrise Park recently, to do so. He mentioned that the
pleasure rink was bigger and better, and that general
remodeling of the inside of the warming house made it much
nicer now.
New Business:
Wenzel Property Development - Don Volk began the
discussion on this development by introducing Kirk Corson who
represents Hokanson Development, and explained the location
of this property being south of Elm Street, west of"Lake
Drive and directly east of Ulmers Rice Lake Addition.
Mr. Corson described this property as 66 acres, including 11
acres condemned by the city for storm water ponding This
property is zoned a combination of single family R-1, town
home construction along Hwy 49, single family between the
townhomes and Ulmer's Addition. He handed out new concept
plan maps showing the road to be shifted to the west, as he
was recently informed by the City Planner that the road had
to be moved to the west to accommodate the people from the
adjoining development on the west, should they want to sub-
divide in the future. Marty explained that Sunrise Park in
relation to this area is a consideration. That the City owns
PAGE 2
