CITY OF LINO LAKES <br /> PARK BOARD MEETING <br /> MONDAY, JUNE 5, 1995 <br /> UPDATES AND OLD BUSINESS <br /> RICE LAKE ESTATES PARK: Marty said he received a call from Jim <br /> Keinath and their attorneys are satisfied that we are close <br /> enough, on their end, to start looking at the agreement that was <br /> written four years ago. Jim said there are a couple of things <br /> that are too broad/general and will want them changed. They <br /> should have it back to us and we will bounce it back and forth <br /> until a suitable agreement is reached. Marty continued by saying <br /> that through his research he has found that we may need to obtain <br /> a permit from the Corp of Engineers to improve the lots. He has <br /> sent a letter to the Corp of Engineers and is waiting an answer <br /> back from them. <br /> FRIENDS OF THE PARK UPDATE: Marty said the Friends are selling <br /> T-Shirts, are going to become actively involved at the <br /> Performance in the Parks events (selling popcorn) , have had a <br /> banner made, and will start working in August or September on the <br /> golf fundraiser for next year. Martha Walmsley has become the <br /> Treasurer and is doing an excellent job. Marty said they are <br /> looking at purchasing plaques to give recognition for different <br /> donations. <br /> Joe wanted mentioned the cost of the T-Shirts. Marty said they <br /> are $15 with $5 dollars of that being tax deductible. With a $25 <br /> or more donation you also receive a membership to Friends of the <br /> Park. Joe thought all the Park Board members should purchase a <br /> shirt as part of their commitment to the Friends of the Park. <br /> RECREATION PROGRAMS UPDATE: Barry said the start of the summer <br /> season program registration is going well. He said the youth and <br /> adult programs are going well. He said the nice weather has been <br /> a factor for registrations coming in. Many of the programs are <br /> already filled. <br /> Staff training for the summer programs start the week of June 12 . <br /> He continued by saying Bob and the Beachcomber will be at the <br /> June 18 Performance in the Park. <br /> The playground and traveling playground programs will be starting <br /> June 19 and run through July 27. Barry said he anticipates <br /> between 600 and 900 kids participating in these programs. <br /> Barry said the Park and Recreation Office has noticed an increase <br /> in soccer and ballfield use. He said there has been <br /> approximately 250 soccer and ballfield permits issued this year <br /> so far. He is working on a compilation of figures on past, <br /> 8 <br />
