CITY OF LINO LAKES
PARK BOARD MEETING
MONDAY, APRIL 31 1995
from the Park Board.
George wanted to know if the $22, 000 included equipment and hard
court surface. LuAnn responded that the quote included
everything. It included excavation, handicap accessibility
tiles, 2-5 year old and 5-12 year old play structures, and
supervision for installation, with the neighborhood installing
the equipment. Pam asked if the hard court surface was cement.
LuAnn said that she had researched several types of hard court
surfaces and the neighborhood decided to do the cement work
themselves. Sharon wanted to know the amount of the grant they
had requested. LuAnn said the original amount was $3500 but they
are hoping to get $2000. Amy asked if they would be willing to
share their door to door fundraising information with other
neighborhood groups. They all said that would not be a problem.
Joe wanted to know if they had thought about getting a scout to
do an eagle scout project and put in a hard surface court area.
LuAnn said they felt they have looked at every resource possible.
She said they have also contacted the developer for a donation
and he told them to submit a request in writing. Moline Concrete
is going to donate concrete picnic tables for the park. There
was also questions on the cost of the equipment, getting business
donations, and ways to cut expenses to be able to meet the
budget.
MOTION: Amy made a motion to approve this neighborhood park at
the Park Board level. Pam seconded the motion. Motion passed
unanimously.
George wanted the minutes sent to the Friends of the Park for
their next meeting.
BRANDYWOOD PARK
Marty discussed the base mapping for this park. He said the park
has 3 acres delineated and they need 5 additional acres to make
it a full neighborhood park for this area. Some of the
difficulty that might be faced are surrounding houses and the
potential to expand. The possibility to expand will have to be
done to the south.
PHEASANT HILLS
Jeff Schoenbauer was present to give an update of this mini park.
He said he and Marty had met with representatives on this concept
plan. He told the board they should look at this as a
preliminary plan because the developer and residents have not had
an opportunity to see this and react. This plan represents the
program elements talked about in the Comprehensive Plan for this
2
