CITY OF LINO LAKES
PARK BOARD MEETING
r MONDAY, OCTOBER 2, 1995
the near future, and hopefully at that time we can find out
what we have to do to get funded on the next round. He did
find out that we had lost points for not having cooperative
relationships established with the surrounding communities
that were alluded to in the text . Marty is hoping that we
can do a joint venture with the City of Circle Pines, the
City of Hugo, and the City of Centerville.
Marty said Circle Pines is working on their comprehensive
plan and may be interested in working with us on cooperative
efforts .
Betty wanted to know if not having the land purchased was a
reason for not approving the grant . Marty said the grant
was for land acquisition so this was not a factor.
Pam asked if they were looking for letters of support from
the surrounding communities Park Boards . Marty said other
grants that have been funded did have letters of agreements
between the cities and he thinks this is what we are going
to have to do. Sharon wanted to know if those grants were
written jointly. Marty wasn' t sure but said he would have
to look into that .
Marty told the Park Board that the second round should be
sometime in March. George said we should start working with
the surrounding communities now. Marty said yes we should
and he will let the Park Board know when Lino Lakes is
invited to the Circle Pines Council or Park Board meeting so
members can attend the meeting.
N-7 Behms Park Update: Marty put an overhead on the screen
and reviewed the development layout of this park. He
discussed the trail . He said Phase I will be done next year
and Phase II may be done next year depending on the economy.
Marty has been in contact with Kate Drury, Rice Creek
Watershed District and John Johnson, project representative,
and he is not sure of the status of the application. He got
different stories from both individuals .
Pam asked if there was an access to the Park. Marty said
there is and he has driven to it . He said it is between
houses and looks like someone' s side yard, but it is there.
3
