CITY OF LINO LAKES
PARK BOARD MEETING
MONDAY, OCTOBER 2, 1995
Ken asked about the trail being put in Phase II of the
project . He voiced his concern about the trail not being
put in if Phase II of the project was not done. Marty said
if Phase II does not go in we will probably get some
additional park land.
Projects: Wenzel Farms - Marty told the members that the
additional piece of playground equipment was going to be
installed on October 1, 1995 . He said they will also have
to drain tile the playground because water is pooling in
this area.
Pheasant Hills - Marty reported that this park may also
have to be drain tiled. This park is in the planning stages
and there is $15, 000 in the budget for playground equipment
for this park.
Birchwood Acres - This park will be worked on this winter
and the residents will be doing a fund-raiser to help pay
for things that are needed in the park.
Country Lakes Park - Marty told the members that the
parking lot has been moved. The final cost for this move
was approximately $3 , 500 . The hydro ax is scheduled to come
in and brush out the area. Marty said this will really open
up the park.
George asked if there was highland from County Lakes Park to
Country Lakes Estates . Marty said he walked the area with
Tom Hovy, DNR, last year and Mike Hoffman this year and
there are highlands to put the trail on. The trail will
come out onto the beach area.
Marty continued by saying it was too late this year to seed
and he thought it was better to wait until next year because
there still was some grading work that needed to be done.
City Hall Park - The building has been moved in and is now
bolted down to the ground. It needs a paint job but it
looks good. Marty said the city saved a lot of money by
using city staff to do the concrete work. He thought the
final cost of the project would be approximately $7, 000 . We
still need a new heater, some utility work done, and the
phone line installed.
4
