CITY OF LINO LAKES PARK BOARD MEETING MONDAY, OCTOBER 2, 1995 Friends of the Park Update: Marty reported that the Friends of the Park did not meet in September. The next golf tournament meeting will be October 3 and hopefully they will be setting a date. He asked the Park Board members to attend this meeting if they were interested in helping with the tournament . He then talked about the letter that John Saccoman sent to other businesses describing the Friends of the Park Foundation. Marty said the Friends did come up with an indemnification form and hold harmless agreement . They have gone before the Lino Lakes City Council with these forms . He then explained what these forms are intended to do. He then went on to say that the donor recognition plaques have come in and he will be giving them to the Friends of the Park Committee . ADA: Marty reported that he has hired Janet Bona as the ADA Coordinator and she will need to be approved by the City Council . She is already talking with the schoold district about the consortium, ADA, and cooperative recreations plans for people with disabilities . Sharon asked if Janet was full-time. Marty said no she is paid on an hourly as needed basis from the CDBG Grant that runs through the end of 1995 . Goal Setting Meeting: Marty had handouts he gave to the members . He then reviewed the memo he wrote on 1996 Goal Statement Cost Estimates, dated September 27, 1995 . He showed slides on the previously proposed park plan for City Hall Park. He showed the members where ball fields could be place along with a parking lot . He said the cost estimate would be about $60, 000 . George asked if these two ball fields would be a prudent use of $60, 000 . Barry said he and Marty have been discussing this and they feel it is a lot of money for two fields . He thought it was a secluded area and did not know if that would be an attraction or deterent . 7
