COUNCIL MINUTES <br />DRAFT <br />2 <br />E) Consider Approval of a Peddler License for 41 <br />Custom Remodelers, Inc. Approved 42 <br />FINANCE DEPARTMENT REPORT 43 <br />There was no report from the Finance Department. 44 <br />ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT 45 <br />There was no report from the Administration Department. 46 <br />PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT REPORT 47 <br />4A) Consider Donation of Seized Property- - Public Safety Director Swenson reviewed his 48 <br />written request to donate bicycles to the Bikes for Kids program. The department comes into 49 <br />possession of the bicycles and, after due process, must move them from storage. He recommends 50 <br />that they be donated to this program that supports the community. 51 <br />Councilmember Cavegn moved to authorize the donation of property as recommended. 52 <br />Councilmember Lyden seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. 53 <br />4B) Consider Acceptance of Donated Gift Cards- - Public Safety Director Swenson explained 54 <br />that he is requesting authority to accept donated gift cards. There have been many cards donated 55 <br />mostly by residents. Staff proposes to utilize the funds for certain departmental activities. The 56 <br />total value is $1,355. 57 <br />Councilmember Lyden asked that the public be informed that their generousity is appreciated. The 58 <br />work of the department is appreciated by the council as well. 59 <br />Councilmember Cavegn moved to authorize the donation of property as recommended. 60 <br />Councilmember Ruhland seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. 61 <br />PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT 62 <br />There was no report from the Public Services Department. 63 <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT REPORT 64 <br />6A) Consider Approval of Resolution No. 21-33, Order Project, Approve the Plans and 65 <br />Specifications and Authorize the Ad for Bid, 2021 Street Maintenance Project – City Engineer 66 <br />Hankee reviewed her written report outlining previous council review and consideration of the 67 <br />project. She noted that the staff report includes a map of the areas included in the project. She 68 <br />noted how the project is funded. Staff is requesting authorization to go out for bids. 69 <br />Mayor Rafferty noted the area included for rejuvenation where streets were just put in in 2015. Ms. 70 <br />Hankee explained the process that would occur and why that is appropriate to preserve the life of 71 <br />those streets. 72 <br />Councilmember Stoesz noted that some streets are adjacent to other jurisdictions; is it appropriate to 73 <br />request a contribution? Ms. Hankee noted information in the staff report indicating where a 74 <br />contribution will be received. 75 <br />Councilmember Cavegn moved to approve Resolution No. 21-33 as presented. Councilmember 76 <br />Ruhland seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. 77
