8 Mitigation Plan Update – 2020 January 31, 2020 <br /> <br />ITEM 18. WATER QUALITY: WASTEWATER <br /> <br />Item No. Mitigation Description Update <br />18.1 Monitor wastewater flows and not permit new development to proceed if it <br />exceeds the capacity of the wastewater system. <br />This mitigation measure is ongoing. <br />18.2 Construct the major infrastructure improvements needed to expand the <br />capacity of the wastewater system (i.e. lift stations, forcemains, and <br />upgrades to the existing systems) in accordance with the Comprehensive <br />Sanitary Sewer Plan and Capital Improvement Plan. <br />This mitigation measure is ongoing. <br />18.3 Adequately phase capacity improvements. This mitigation measure is ongoing. <br />18.4 Amend the Comprehensive Sanitary Sewer Plan and Capital <br />Improvement Plan to be consistent with any amendments to the <br />Comprehensive Plan that would necessitate expansions or alterations to <br />the sanitary sewer system and regional capacity needs. <br />This mitigation measure is ongoing. No updates <br />have been needed to date for the study area. <br />18.5 Each proposed development will be required to provide a detailed <br />projection of wastewater generation and flows. These calculations will be <br />checked by the City’s Engineering Consultant. <br />This mitigation measure is ongoing. <br />18.6 The City will create a year-end report to evaluate wastewater increases by <br />major sewer lines and overall system usage in relation to capacity. <br />Results of this assessment will become the targets for growth for the <br />following year. <br />This mitigation measure is ongoing. <br />
