Public Purpose Expenditures <br /> <br />The following are deemed to be valid City expenditures by the Lino Lakes City Council <br />provided there are funds available for these expenditures. <br /> <br /> <br />Meals and Refreshments <br /> <br />a) Bakery items and refreshments may be provided for the following events: staff’s spring <br />cleanup day, quarterly all-staff meetings, employees annual benefits fair, training <br />sessions for summer temporary/seasonal employees, and City-hosted meetings. <br />b) Dinner for employees and their guest during the annual employee appreciation barbecue. <br />c) Lunch for employees during the annual summer picnic. <br />d) Light meal for elected officials and management staff during the City Council’s annual <br />strategic goal-setting session. <br />e) Cake and refreshments for employee retirements and outgoing councilmembers. <br />f) Coffee and cake for public safety swearing in ceremonies. <br />g) Breakfast and lunch for staff and volunteers during the annual recycling day. <br />h) Fruit or pizza for election judges during primaries or elections. <br /> <br />Employee Recognition Program <br /> <br />The Council recognizes the benefits of attracting, retaining, and motivating employees by <br />rewarding their efforts in providing excellent service to residents and the general public. Each <br />year the Lino Lakes City Council sets aside funds for the purpose of recognizing employees for <br />their years of dedicated service to the citizens of Lino Lakes. The Council further recognizes the <br />benefits of attracting, retaining, and motivating employees by rewarding their efforts in <br />providing excellent customer service to residents and the general public. <br /> <br />The recognition program includes the following service awards: <br /> <br />a) $600 provided annually for awards in the amount of $25 in value in recognition of an <br />employee having provided excellent service and value to the City by going above and <br />beyond through hard work, initiative, customer service, or innovation. <br />b) <br /> Employees retiring from the City with a minimum of ten years of service will receive an <br />appreciation gift valued at $100. <br /> <br />1. Employees reaching 10 years of service have the choice of a gold lapel pin or pendant or <br />a $50 gift card.
