DESIGN REVIEW BOARD <br />November 14, 1990 <br />Iron site and he wishes to build a leased -space industrial building <br />there (Lot 1, Block 1). With Boe being the owner on both sides of <br />the street I've suggested he petition for street improvements. He <br />is agreeable. <br />On August 24, 1987 the city council adopted Ordinance No. 17 -87, an <br />amendment to the zoning ordinance. Section 4, Subd. 4 (G) was <br />amended to state in part: <br />(G) Pole barn construction and sheet metal exteriors may be <br />permitted in all commercial and industrial districts as <br />a conditional use under the following circumstances: <br />(3) As an expansion of a pole barn. The expansion shall not <br />be more than 50 per cent of the gross area of the pole <br />barn as of the date of the passage of this ordinance. <br />The city shall attach conditions to the expansion to <br />maintain and enhance the appearance and function of the <br />building including landscaping and building <br />The board members discussed the conditions that must be met in <br />order for the conditional use to be granted. These are mentioned <br />in the motion. <br />John Miller and Dan Boxrud will research street improvements on <br />Industrial Boulevard and the driveway issue and report the results <br />to the city council. <br />MOTION: John Bergeson moved to recommend to the City Council <br />approval of a conditional use permit for Boe Ornamental Iron, <br />Application #90 -56, with the following conditions: <br />1. The applicant petition for street improvements on <br />Industrial Boulevard. To be researched by the City <br />Planner and City Engineer. <br />2. The driveway and parking areas from Industrial Boulevard <br />to the gate leading to the enclosed area be paved and <br />curb installed. To be researched by the City Planner and <br />City Engineer. <br />3. Foundation planting (schools) and concrete curb be <br />installed on the west side of the existing structure. <br />(planting to be approved by the city forester). <br />4.
