DESIGN REVIEW BOARD <br />March 13, 1991 <br />said that he has met with staff members of the City of Lino Lakes <br />on several different occasions. He described the site plan to the <br />board members. <br />John Miller recommended in his memorandum the following items: <br />1. Detail of light standards should be provided and all <br />outside lighting should be hooded to eliminate glare. <br />2. A tabulated schedule of landscaping material should be <br />provided. <br />3. The loading dock on the east side of the school should be <br />re- examined and a location on the north side of the <br />building studied as an alternate. <br />Mr. McClellan stated he has no problem with these requirements and <br />a list of landscaping materials was handed out to the board members <br />the day of the meeting. <br />He stated that he is working with the parks department as to who <br />will maintain trails throughout the area. An underpass is planned <br />to travel under Birch Street allowing students to get to school <br />without crossing a busy street. SEH has completed a cost study on <br />the underpass. <br />the entrance of the school will be one block up on West Shadow Lake <br />Drive. <br />Three tennis courts are being planned for the future. Mr. <br />McClellan stated that this is something the parks department is <br />really anxious for, but they would not be a high priority. <br />Marty Asleson, Parks Superintendent, will layout the trails so as <br />to not harm mature trees within the site. <br />Bill Lawrence, Developer, described drainage at the facility. and <br />described the school in depth. <br />The facility exceeds all the requirements for the handicapped. <br />Dan Boxrud addressed the board. He recommends that West Shadow <br />Lake Drive be improved at least to the driveway of the elementary <br />school. <br />Dan Boxrud also discussed the underpass. He stated that the <br />underpass would require extension of a walkway southerly through <br />the Birchwood Acres development in a location where none was shown <br />nor required of the developer.
