1 1 1 DESIGN REVIEW BOARD April 10, 1991 This item was tabled because the architect was not present. CONSIDERATION OF A VARIANCE TO PERMIT PRIVATE STREETS IN OAK BROOK PENINSULA. APPLICATION #90 -66. John Miller stated that the city council has approved the preliminary plat for Bob Adamson to develop Oak Brook Peninsula. He stated that the city council also approved a minor subdivision for Marlin Hansen giving Bob Adamson access to his subdivision. The city has amended his variance application to include a request to construct a private bridge and road. The bridge and road would be an extension of Otter Lake Drive and give access to the five lot subdivision. Laurie Kinneberg addressed the board. She had several issues she brought up to the board. 1. Permits from DNR and RCWD have not been approved. 2. If the road were built it would fall within 50 feet of the shoreline, going against city code. 3. The road is in good condition now. If heavy equipment were brought in the area during construction it would ruin the road. Who would have to pay for the damages. 4. She is requesting that this item be tabled. Letters were distributed to the board members outlining these concerns. Bob Adamson addressed the board. He stated that he has applied and received permits from the DNR and RCWD for the plat. The only exception is that permits have not been given as of yet for the bridge. The agencies are waiting to see the designs of the bridge before permits are granted. He stated that the private road would both benefit the city and the private land owners. The home owners association would be responsible for the maintenance of the road. Laurie Kinneberg asked various road questions and received answers from the board and Mr. Adamson. MOTION: Robert King moved to recommend to the city council approval of the amended application #90 -66 permitting construction of a private bridge and road for Oak Brook Peninsula. 3
