Custom Fire Apparatus, Inc. <br />This model of seat shall have successfully completed the static load tests by FMVSS 207/210. This <br />testing shall include a simultaneous forward load of 3000 pounds each on the lap and shoulder belts and <br />twenty (20) times the weight through the center of gravity. This model of seat installed in the cab model, <br />as specified, shall have successfully completed the dynamic sled testing using FMVSS 208 as a guide <br />with the following accommodations. In order to reflect the larger size outfitted firefighters, the test <br />dummy used shall be a 95th percentile hybrid III male weighing 225 pounds rather than the 50th <br />percentile male dummy weighing 165 pounds as referenced in FMVSS 208. The model of seats shall <br />also have successfully completed the flammability of materials used in the occupant compartments of <br />motor vehicles as outlined in FMVSS 302, of which decides the burning rate of materials in the occupant <br />compartments of motor vehicles. <br />SEAT BACK REAR FACING OUTER <br />The crew area seat backs shall include an IMMI brand SmartDock® Gen 2 hands -free self contained <br />breathing apparatus (SCBA) holder. The hands -free holder shall meet NFPA 1901-03 9G dynamic <br />requirements for cylinder restraint systems for use in crew compartments of emergency response <br />vehicles. The bracket shall accommodate and secure most types of self-contained breathing apparatus <br />cylinders. <br />The hands -free holder shall consist of a back plate, bottom cradle, non -marring top claws, and claw <br />height adjustment knob. The height adjustment knob shall allow for easy adjustment of the claws to the <br />SCBA. The hands -free holder's claws shall lock from inertial forces to prevent the SCBA from becoming <br />a projectile in the event of a crash to meet the NFPA 1901-03 standard for SCBA retention. The SCBA <br />holder shall offer single -motion insertion into the claws and hands -free release when the SCBA fitted <br />seat occupant rises. <br />The seat back shall include a removable padded cover which shall be provided over the SCBA cavity. <br />SEAT MOUNTING REAR FACING OUTER <br />The rear facing outer seat shall offer a special mounting position which shall be rotated towards the <br />center of the cab 15-degrees offering ease of egress for the occupant. <br />SEAT REAR FACING CENTER LOCATION <br />The crew area shall include one (1) rear facing crew seat located directly behind the engine tunnel in the <br />center of the cab. <br />SEAT CREW REAR FACING CENTER <br />The crew area shall include a seat in the rear facing center position which shall be a H.O. Bostrom 500 <br />Series Firefighter model seat. The seat shall feature a tapered and padded seat, and cushion. The seat <br />and cushion shall be spring load hinged and compact in design for additional room. The seat shall include <br />a "Fold and Hold" feature so that the cushion shall remain in the seated position and simply touched to <br />flip up. <br />The seat shall feature an all belts to seat (ABTS) style of safety restraint. The ABTS feature shall <br />include a three-point shoulder harness with the lap belt and automatic retractor as an integral part of the <br />seat assembly.
