• There would be a decrease in the overall benefits that the urban forest is providing <br />to the community. <br />• Policy change may not have a large impact, as most people do support the <br />boulevard tree program. <br />• Trees would still be installed in new residential developments in accordance with <br />the Zoning Ordinance. <br />• Money that would have been used to replace the tree can then be used for a <br />boulevard tree for another property. <br />• Opt-out properties may disrupt the aesthetics of a street that has a row of similar <br />species. <br />If the choice to opt-out is presented to residents, trees and other landscaping that they may <br />choose to install must be placed on private property and outside of the drainage and utility <br />easement, which is typically an additional 10 feet back from the property line. <br /> <br />BOARD CONSIDERATION <br />Staff is requesting Board comments on the questions above. <br />
