Private data is information <br />that generally cannot be given to the public but can be given to the subject of the data. <br />Confidential data is information that generally cannot be given to either the public or to the <br />subject of the data. <br />The requested information will be used to evaluate the employee’s job performance, eligibility, <br />and abilities. If the employee provides false, incomplete or misleading information, the employee <br />may be subject to discipline. <br />A. Types of Data <br />• Public Data. Information about a person that must be made available to the public or to <br />the subject of the data. <br />• Private Data. Information that can be given to the subject of the data upon request, but is <br />not available to the public without permission or as specifically authorized by law. <br />• Confidential Data. Information that generally cannot be given to the public or the subject <br />of the data. <br />• Personnel Data.
