CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION December 4, 2017
DRAFT
11
Council Member Rafferty asked about investigation vehicles. Director Swenson 447
explained that there is one vehicle in the capital vehicle replacement plan that would be 448
discussed next year. There is one vehicle that will be discussed based on condition 449
(Toyota Corolla). Council Member Rafferty asked Director DeGardner about a vehicle 450
that is currently being used by Brian Finke. Director Swenson explained that when the 451
temporary inspector came on the vehicle that is used as spare was put into rotation for use 452
by that new inspector. Council Member Rafferty suggested not buying the truck right 453
now and that the 60,000 mile truck be used instead. The city doesn’t have the kind of 454
money it takes to have spare vehicles. 455
456
Council Member Maher noted, regarding building inspections, that she’s heard from 457
people that inspectors are missing things that need to be redone by contractors. She 458
noted Birch Court and 6495 Deerwood. She was on the phone with someone who was 459
basically getting a driveby inspection and that is not acceptable. Community 460
Development Director Grochala pledged to investigate. 461
462
16. Council Updates on Board/Commissions 463
464
17.
