The large homepage images slide on a loop that are self-administered, meaning they may
be put up and taken down at any time and at no additional cost. While neither Luverne
nor Pine City is doing so at the moment, their images may be captioned and linked to any
webpage. Presently, the City of Lino Lakes does have the Image Slider feature, but it
appears on a much smaller scale and is not Responsive. The redesign will take care of
that.

Further, the City’s current design has four Selectable Background Images, which is a nice
feature, but those four images are locked in and cannot be swapped for others without a
charge. The same goes for the five framed images immediately atop the body of the
pages (called “image banners”). Image banners are now considered a dated feature on
websites, and the new RWD will not have them.

Finally, both Luverne and Pine City do a nice job of having pertinent information on the
homepage without going overboard. GovOffice believes in simple, navigable
homepages, but clients may decide for themselves how deep they wish to go.
Accordingly, GovOffice RWDs are designed to maximize available horizontal space to
support a lot of homepage content in the event a client wishes to do that. Because of that
capability, even with all of the content on Lino Lakes’ current homepage, the amount of
scrolling required to see all homepage content on the new, Responsive Design will be
less than it is today on the City’s fixed width display (only 2/3 of screen width supports
self-admin. content).

The reason for sharing the City of Forest City, Iowa’s RWD is the incorporation of a
specific feature: Image Carousel, found immediately above News & Announcements and
Meeting Calendar on the homepage. This feature may be substituted for the Filmstrip
feature (Filmstrip appears just above Image Carousel). Forest City chose to have both
Filmstrip and Image Carousel, but they are somewhat redundant. Both are terrific, self-
admin features, but only one is important to have. Again, Lino Lakes may choose either
Filmstrip or Image Carousel, and it will be covered by the proposal.

Pricing and Payment

1. The Budget Payment Plan ($3925 per year for 3 years) is not required. If the City
wishes to upgrade to a Responsive Website Design (RWD), but not spread its upgrade
cost evenly over a 3-year period, a one-time purchase of the Progressive RWD
package may be made in the amount of $7,995.

2. The $7995 charge, whether paid in a lump sum or rolled into a 3-year Budget
Payment Plan, includes more than a Responsive Website Design. Also involved will
be the City’s first major, professional rework of its navigation menu since it became a
client in December 2004. Also included is additional Content Service, specifically, a
Homepage Setup performed by the GovOffice Team. A Homepage Setup ensures
that the homepage looks and performs at its very best at launch.
