Park Board <br />January 2, 2025 <br />pg. 3 <br /> <br /> <br />DRAFT MINUTES <br /> <br />Mrs. Schmidt main concern is that she doesn’t want this area to become another area <br />where all the city does is mow the grass. The city will have to pay for trail maintenance <br />and grass cutting. <br />Park Board members are in support of the concept plan. <br />7. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br />A. Joint City Council/Advisory Board meeting set for January 15 <br />Mr. DeGardner stated the next Joint City Council/Advisory Board meeting for the <br />Mapping Northwest Main Study is scheduled for Wednesday, January 15th from 6:00 <br />pm to 7:30 pm in the City Council Chambers. All advisory board members are <br />encouraged to attend. <br />B. Discuss 2025 Goals <br />Mr. DeGardner stated the City Council has allocated $180,000 to the Park and Trail <br />funds. <br />Mrs. Schmidt talked about adding mats near the ADA swings for easier access. <br />Mr. Kusterman would like to use the $180,000 to update two playgrounds. Questioned <br />if Pheasant Hills Park, due to age and use, should be a park that is updated. <br />Mr. DeGardner listed the four parks built in the 1990s: Pheasant Hill Park, Marshan Park, <br />Behm’s Park, and Arena Acres Park. <br />Mr. Gooder stated Marshan Park is a bigger plan for the future. How much would it cost <br />to tear down the Marshan Park building? <br />Mrs. Schmidt made a motion to replace the park equipment at Shenandoah and Behm’s <br />Park in 2025. Mrs. Ballering seconded. Motion carried 4 – 0. <br />8. NEXT SCHEDULED PARK BOARD MEETING - Wednesday, February 5, 2025 <br />9. ADJOURNMENT <br />Mr. Kusterman moved to adjourn the meeting.
