• May 15th is Law Enforcement Memorial Day. This year is the 20-year anniversary <br />of Lino Lakes Police Officer Shawn Silvera's death. Shawn was killed -in -the -line of <br />duty on September 6, 2005. This year is also the 15-year anniversary of Lino <br />Lakes Police Officer Sam Bergeron's father, Maplewood Sgt. Joe Bergeron's <br />death, he was killed in the line of duty May 1, 2010. <br />• The Oath of Office for the Chief of Police has been customized, and the Oath of <br />Office for the Fire Chief is more traditional and will be presented at the regular <br />meeting this evening. <br />The City Council discussed the process and plan for updating the logos, badges, motto, etc., <br />with the change from a Public Safety Department to a Police Department and Fire <br />Department. <br />4. Review Regular Agenda <br />The City Council reviewed the regular agenda. <br />The City Clerk reported that two written statements have been received that will be <br />submitted during the public comment period this evening. These will be read in full in <br />keeping with past practice. It is requested that the Council review the Rules of Decorum <br />as it relates to written comments, at a future Work Session. <br />Mayor Rafferty requested that when adopting the Consent Agenda items that the <br />motion be made to include the range of the items (i.e. Item 1A through 1G). <br />The City Council reviewed the police and fire department personnel items. It was noted <br />that a detailed implementation report would be presented to the City Council at the <br />May 14t" Special Work Session. <br />Councilmember Stoesz asked if the police department was going to keep the officer job <br />posting active, now that the position had been filled. <br />The Interim Public Safety Director stated that they had received notice that an officer is <br />taking a job with another community and as a result they are keeping the Lino Lakes job <br />posting open to fill this vacancy. <br />The Public Works Superintendent reviewed the request to replace the generator for Lift <br />Station 53. <br />The Community Development Director reviewed the Natures Refuge North <br />development project and the amendments to the plan since the last City Council Work <br />Session discussion. He noted that the Planning and Zoning Board held the Public Hearing <br />for this project. <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />
