i. If private drainage cannot be treated prior to discharge the basins
shall be privately maintained.
5. Storm sewer between town homes should discharge between the buildings into
a swale before continuing west to the drainage swale and entering the storm
basin.
a. Creating water features between the buildings with native plantings and
vegetation will provide a higher level of stormwater treatment and create
"fingers of green" running through the site to enhance wildlife habitat.
6. The project should include expanded buffers adjacent to Wetland 1. A
restoration and management plan should be developed for upland buffer
areas consistent with pre -settlement vegetation.
7. Trees scheduled to be preserved must have Tree Protection Fence installed in
accordance with City tree protection fence detail. City Tree Protection Fence
detail should be added to the plan sheet. Standard detail Gen-27.
8. Tree removal should be completed in the fall or winter to minimize impacts to
migrating or nesting bat populations.
9. Provide ESA classification and basic use designation for the 57 trees being
removed. It appears that several of the trees will be larger than 12" in diameter
and would require a 2:1 replacement planting.
Table 6
Tree Preservation and Mitigation Standards
Environmentally Sensitive
Tree Location: within Basic Use
Tree Location: not within Basic Use Area
Area (ESA) Category
Area
deciduous trees 6 inches DBH and
deciduous trees 6-12 inches DBH
deciduous trees over 12 inches
over or evergreen trees between
or evergreen trees between 12 and
DBH or evergreen trees over 20
12 to 20 feet tall
20 feet tall
feet tall
Non -ESA
no mitigation required
provide one tree per tree removed
provide two trees per tree removed
Natural Resource
provide one tree per four trees
provide two trees per tree removed
provide three trees per tree
Enhancement Area
removed
removed
Natural Resource
provide one tree per two trees
provide two trees per tree removed
provide three trees per tree
Conservation Area
removed
removed
a.
b. On the removal plans add the tree identification number so we can
correlate it with the tree inventory.
Page 2
