CITY COUNCIL <br />STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA ITEM S.C. <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Dan L'Allier, Fire Chief <br />MEETING DATE June 23, 2025 <br />AGENDA ITEM: Consider Appointment of Part -Time Firefighter <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The City Council is being asked to approve the appointment of Samuel Gibson Eyestone to the <br />Part -Time Firefighter position within the Fire Department. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Staff has provided a conditional offer and is recommending the approval of Eyestone for the <br />part-time position. <br />Eyestone has completed Firefighter 1 & 2 as well as Hazardous Materials training and <br />certification and has been working as a Paid On -Call Firefighter for the City of Lino Lakes since <br />May 4, 2025. Eyestone also has seven years of previous firefighting experience. <br />The starting wage for Eyestone will be $30.08 per hour, which is Step 6 of a 7 step wage scale <br />for the Part -Time Firefighting position. <br />With the Council's approval, Eyestone would start in the position on June 30, 2025. <br />The Fire Department currently has 14 Part -Time Firefighters on staff. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Please approve the appointment of Samuel Gibson Eyestone to the Part -Time Firefighter <br />position. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />None <br />Page 96 of 142 <br />
