Centennial Fire District Joint Powers Agreement <br />2.4 Compensation. Committee members shall serve without compensation from the <br />District, but nothing herein shall be construed to prevent a member municipality from <br />compensating its committee members for service on the committee as such <br />compensation is otherwise authorized by law. <br />2.5 Quorum. Four (4) of six (6) regular committee members during special or quarterly <br />meeting shall constitute a quorum provided each municipality is represented by at <br />least one Committee Member, except in situations of default when three (3) of four <br />(4) committee members shall constitute a quorum. <br />2.6 Voting. Each committee member present at the meeting other than ex officio <br />administrative staff members shall be entitled to one vote. Unless otherwise provided <br />in the agreement, the committee may take the action on any issue by a 51 percent of <br />greater vote of those members present and entitled to vote at a duly called meeting, <br />subject to the quorum requirement of section 2.5. However, passage of a motion shall <br />require an affirmative vote from one member of each member city. <br />In the absence of the designated elected committee official, the designated elected <br />official alternate of that municipality shall become a voting member of the <br />committee. <br />There shall be no voting by proxy. Votes must be cast at a committee meeting by a <br />committee member. <br />Administrative staff approval of payment of bills as in section 2.3 shall require <br />unanimous agreement. <br />2.7 Default, Voting Authority. No committee member shall be eligible to vote on <br />behalf of the municipality that appointed said committee member during such time as <br />the municipality is in default of terms or provisions of this agreement. During the <br />existence of such default, the vote or votes of such municipality shall not be counted <br />for the purposes of this agreement. Committee members representing a municipality <br />in a default shall not be counted for the purpose of determining a quorum. <br />2.8 District Office. The office of the District shall be 7741 Lake Drive, Lino Lakes, MN <br />55014 or such locations as the committee deems necessary.
