COUNCIL MINUTES SEPTEMBER 13, 1999 <br />The total levy includes dollars for the general operating budget as well as dollars for general <br />bonded debt. <br />The levy will be further reviewed by the City Council and staff between September 15 and <br />November 19, 1999, for changes, if necessary. <br />Council Member Dahl moved to adopt Resolution No. 99 - 66, as presented. Council Member <br />Neal seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Resolution No. 99 - 66 can be found at the end of these minutes. <br />Consider to Establish Dates for Truth in Taxation Hearings - Linda Waite Smith - All <br />government entities are required to hold Truth in Taxation hearings to receive public input on the <br />proposed levy and general operation budget. <br />Monday, December 6, 1999, 6:00 p.m. will be the first Truth in Taxation hearing date. <br />A continuation hearing, if needed, is scheduled for Monday, Dece <br />final adoption of the 2000 levy and general operating budget i <br />hearing on December 13, 1999. <br />Council Member Bergeson moved to approve Mo <br />December 13, 1999, for the Truth in Taxation he <br />motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />, 6:00 p.m. with <br />the continuation <br />r 6, 1999, and Monday, <br />uncil Member Lyden seconded the <br />Consideration of Cable Franchi on ract - Linda Waite Smith - Staff referred to <br />a copy of the 2000 North Met muni ations Commission (NMTC) and Media Center <br />Budgets. As a member cit , Lino Lakes is required to approve the operating <br />budget of both the co s well as the Media Center. <br />The Commission's bud s roposed to increase by approximately $14,000.00 in 2000. The <br />increase reflects additio needs due to transfer of ownership, the franchise renewal process and <br />combating legislation that could harm local franchising authority. <br />The 2000 budget for the Media Center is $594,482.00 of which $117.066.00 are capital <br />equipment expenditures. It is also recommended that the PEG (Public Education Government) <br />Access fee be increased from $2 /month to $2.25 /month. This increase will cover replacement <br />costs of capital equipment. <br />Council Member Bergeson moved to approve the Commission Budget and Media Center Budget, <br />with a PEG FEE increase from $2 /month to $2.25 /month. Council Member Lyden seconded the <br />motion.
