7. Encourage high density, ownership and rental housing within the <br />Town Center to meet the objectives of the draft Comprehensive <br />Plan and to help ensure the success of Traditional Neighborhood <br />Development principles. <br />8. Continue working in partnership with the YMCA to complete plans <br />for the construction of a facility in The Village. <br />PROJECTED RESULTS: <br />The Town Center project will incorporate public facilities into a <br />mixed -use commercial /residential development center to provide <br />municipal services, a physical sense of identity for the City, an <br />active, pedestrian- oriented environment, and a profitable business <br />center. A City initiative will use new city facilities as a means to <br />stimulate private development, increase the value of land along <br />I -35W, enhance the City's tax base, and provide more direct <br />control over the quality of development within the City. <br />POLICY RECOMMENDATION: <br />A diverse mixture of high density multi - family homes, with an 80/20 mix of market rate and <br />affordable, and a 50/50 owner /renter mix, will be encouraged in the Town Center <br />6 <br />
