ONE YEAR ACTION PLAN PROGRAMS <br />1. PLANNING /ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM <br />PURPOSE: <br />To develop an integrated Community Development framework of <br />urban design guidelines that will ensure the guiding principles of <br />livable communities within the draft Comprehensive Plan are applied <br />to future development in Lino Lakes <br />1999 REVIEW: The city is continuing to work with Calthorpe Associates to develop a <br />framework that addresses zoning and regulations that act as barriers <br />to development of higher density mixed uses <br />STRATEGY: <br />1. Annual review of Comprehensive Plan for commercial /industrial <br />objectives to ensure EDAC goals remain consistent with overall <br />city goals. <br />2. Review city zoning and code regulations and permitting <br />processes to address the regulatory barriers to higher density, <br />mixed use, clustered, pedestrian oriented development. <br />3. Identify areas within the city to which principles and performance <br />standards can be applied. <br />TIME FRAME: Annual <br />ASSIGNED TO: EDAC, Community Development Staff, Planning consultants <br />PROJECTED RESULTS: <br />Clear rules, consistently applied that supports the city's guiding <br />principles for the remaining developable land in Lino Lakes <br />10 <br />
