Planning & Zoning Board June 13, 2012 Page 4 APPROVED MINUTES Vice Ch air Hyden declared the Public Hearing open at 7 :30 p.m. There was no one present to speak. Mr. Root made a MOTION to c lose the Public Hearing at 7 :55 p.m. Motion was supported by Mr. Laden . Motion carried 4 - 0. Mr. Root made a MOTION to recommend app roval of Amending Section 8 of the Zoning Ordinance which includes requirements for industrial districts. Motion was supported by Mr. Evenson . Motion carried 4 - 0 . C. PUBLIC HEARING to consider Amending Section 3 of the Zoning Ordinance regarding requirem ents for Screening, Landscaping and Buffer Yards Paul Bengtson presented the staff report. Staff recommended approval of the Zoning Ordinance Amendment . Board members raised questions about screening requirements and for ways to do tree sampling rather than require a complete survey. Staff answered that the screening requirements mimic current standards, and that more screening/buffer on collector streets at the time of subdivision development would be required. Staff said the wording could be changed to arterial streets. Staff noted that tree surveys can be waived if considered unnecessary, and is only required in areas where work is occurring. Staff recommended approval of Resolution No. 1 2 -01 .
