This involvement is reflected in Benchmark Community Builder
Collaborative's overall business purpose as well — to be a Community Builder.
How This Step is Completed:
Important citizen audiences will be identified into distinct groups, including but not
limited to:
• Property owners
• Business owners and managers
• Civic leaders (School, Religious etc.)
• Children
• Teenagers
• Families
• Single, professional adults
• Seniors
From there, a detailed plan will be created to seek input from these various
groups. This input is likely to come from a combination of face -to -face meetings
with individuals, focus groups, charettes, written surveys, task forces and
listening sessions.
Benchmark Community Builder Collaborative will want to understand attitudes
and preferences related to the patronage of current businesses and use of
current amenities throughout the city. In addition, these various groups will
provide input on the potential business types, uses and activities to create the
"right mix" for a project. This group will also provide input on the appropriate
forums for marketing to reach target audiences.
Who Completes:
Benchmark Community Builder Collaborative working with city leaders
Outcome:
Clear understanding of citizen needs and desires.
All Rights Reserved 4
