their consultant are working with the City of Centerville to examine urban design concepts as well as pedestrian/bicycle trails through Segment 2. Regional Access Alternatives The Phase I study anticipated that the appropriate design concept- that is the number of lanes needed for CSAH 14 reconstruction — could depend upon the presence or absence of new interstate access. Six regional access alternatives were considered with attention to their relationship to the proposed reconstruction project. Maps of the regional access alternatives can be viewed on the project website. Review of the six alternatives concluded that the CSAH 14 project can meet the study area's transportation needs independent of possible regional access improvements. Also, the proposed design concept for the roadway does not need to be modified to accommodate the alternatives. Following the June 24, 2004 public meeting a final report of the Phase I study will be prepared. Staff is anticipating presenting the study to the council in late June or early July and requesting approval of the preferred design concept. The design concept will be further developed during the Preliminary Design (Phase II) and finalized with the development of construction documents (Phase III) and constructed in 2006 -2007.
