JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT <br />THIS AGREEMENT made this 7 day of Dece m+'er, 2006 by and among the <br />City. of Blaine, Anoka County, Minnesota (`Blaine ") and the City of Lino Lakes, Anoka County, <br />Minnesota ( "Lino Lakes "). <br />WITNESSETH: <br />WHEREAS, Lino Lakes has constructed a two -way metered water service <br />interconnection to Sunset Avenue and Elm *Street; and, <br />WHEREAS, the parties hereto desire to enter a Joint Powers Agreement to allow <br />Lino Lakes and Blaine to provide backup water sources for their municipal water systems; and, <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes Section 471.59 authorize two (2). or more <br />governmental units by agreement of their governing bodies jointly and cooperatively to exercise <br />any power common to the contracting parties or any similar powers, including those which are the <br />same except for the territorial limits within which they are exercised; and, <br />WHEREAS, the parties hereto desire to set forth the respective rights and <br />obligations of the parties to this Agreement. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY AGREED by and among the parties as <br />follows: <br />
