• <br />• <br />Special Units <br />Animal Control <br />The City of Lino Lakes enforces the animal control laws by utilizing the Community Service <br />Officers, and they are assisted, as needed, by the police officers. <br />The duties of Animal Control include investigating barking dog complaints, animals at large, <br />animal annoyance complaints, animal bites, abuse, assisting with dangerous or injured animals and <br />enforcement. The city renewed their contract with Otter Lake Animal Care Center in Lino Lakes <br />to provide animal services. <br />The department responded to the following Animal Control related incidents in 2006: <br />Animal ordinance calls: 353 <br />Summons for animal ordinance violations: 34 <br />Lost and found animals: 36 <br />Dog bites: 14 <br />Animals impounded: 63 <br />Dog licenses issued: 266 <br />Community Service Officer <br />CSO Terina Peterson <br />There are two part-time Community Service <br />Officers. These non -sworn personnel provide <br />officer support and public assistance. Their <br />responsibilities include: public fingerprinting, <br />police department tours, ordinance and parking <br />enforcement, prisoner transport, traffic control, <br />public assist calls, prisoner monitoring, animal <br />complaints, vehicle lockouts, child passenger <br />seat safety checks and assist records staff with <br />entering reports and other related paperwork. <br />Lino Lakes Police Department 2006 Annual Report <br />CSO Shane Quinn <br />19 <br />
