•
•
Jim Studenski
May 7, 2007
Page 2
The Owner /Developer will be required to supply the number of trucks per hour or trucks per day that
will be using CSAH 54. Detailed drainage calculations must be submitted along with a grading and
erosion control plan that delineates the drainage areas for this development. The post - developed
rate /volume of runoff must not exceed the pre- developed rate /volume of runoff for the 10 -year, critical
design storm. An engineering plan review fee estimated at $450.00 will be required for this
development. Please contact Andrew Witter, Construction Engineer, for further information regarding
the engineering plan review process. Please submit the drainage calculations, grading an erosion
control plans, CSAH 54 turn lane construction plans, the ACHD Design Requirements Checklist for
County Highway Modifications (copy available via our website) and the applicable engineering plan
review fee to Mr. Witter for his review and approval.
A Haul Road Permit and a permit for work within the county right of way are required and must be
obtained prior to the commencement of any hauling operations and /or construction activity within
county right of way (Permit for Work Within County R/W= $110.00; Haul Road Access
Permit = $150.00). License Permit Bonding, methods of construction, work zone traffic control,
restoration requirements and follow -up inspections are typical elements of the permitting process.
Please note that the Developer will be required to make the necessary pavement marking removals for
the implementation of the turn lane plan as part of the permit process. Attached are some sample Haul
Road Permit Conditions we have utilized in the past. We may include all or part of these conditions,
as well as require addition conditions for this operation (example - limiting the hours for trucks
entering/existing this site to lessen the impact on a.m. and p.m. rush hours). Contact Terri Klein,
Permit Technician, for further information regarding the permit process.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Jane K.
