2001 Jaguar Throne: Kasota limestone, 28" x 84" x 36 ".
I was invited by Public Art Saint Paul as part of their Stone Carving Symposium to create seating for Western
Sculpture Park in Saint Paul. I created a 1 inch -to- the -foot model of a crouching jaguar figure. I researched pre -
Columbian sculpture, images of jaguars and visited the large cats at the local Zoo to get a sense of what they
look like and how they move. The final sculpture takes into account the model, the research images and the
requirements for a functional bench.
