APPROACH TO SCOPE OF SERVICES A well defined project endpoint must be created as part of the contract documents. Through the development of City standards, TKDA can ensure that every project in the City, whether a City project, outside consultant project, or private development project, incorporates contract requirements that will position the project favorably for a smooth, timely, and quality finish. Preparation of Engineering Reports and Technical Correspondence Whether routine letters or detailed reports, TKDA is careful to prepare concise and accurate correspondence. Being able to advise the City Administrator and City Council on when studies, reports, or other information is needed is a primary -- role for a City Engineer. Jim has extensive experience providing this direction to cities and preparing all types of reports and correspondence. TKDA professionals use state -of- the -art technology, communications, design software, and asset management programs. Successful meetings typically result when a clearly defined purpose was established before the meeting was scheduled. Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary to best represent the City when conducting or participating in meetings. It is important that the City Engineer be capable of communicating technical information in a manner that is relevant to meeting participants and will help to facilitate productive discussion and decision making. Response to Constituent Requests and Issues as Directed by Staff Responsiveness is the cornerstone to building trust and respect in any relationship. Responding in a timely manner to residents, business owners, developers, and staff is a priority for TKDA professionals. Therefore, we focus on active communication to let constituents know that we have received their request and are working to resolve their issue. We feel that if we hear from a constituent before we are able to provide them an update, then we waited too long. In addition, TKDA employees treat citizens with respect when dealing with issues. Whether in person, at a meeting, or over the telephone, citizens are always treated courteously. Telephone calls are returned promptly. We do not shy away from difficult topics and some callers actually seem surprised when called back, especially if they left a somewhat terse message.
