o Describe what your agency will bring to the respective metro effort
and what benefit your agency will get from participating as a member
of a gang strike force.
The Lino Lakes Police Department will provide an officer that is a self -
starter. This officer will assist other officers as needed, but will work
toward developing their own sources and intel that they will share with the
entire group in support of the strike force's goals. The officer will be
familiar with the Anoka County Court system and will have established
contacts with other Anoka County law enforcement agencies which will
open the flow of communications both out to the law enforcement
community in Anoka County as well as coming in from Anoka County to
the MGSF. The Lino Lakes Police Department will be gaining a portal into
information and education about gang related activity that will be
presented to the entire department that will enhance our ability to detect
current gang activity much better and more importantly, to help design a
strategy to stay ahead of any potential growth in this area of crime.
o Describe how participation on a gang strike force will support,
enhance and build on your other investigative efforts.
Assigning an officer to the MGSF will enhance that officer's ability to
develop and utilize informants, it will strengthen his ability to develop intel
and administer search warrants. These skills are ones that can not only be
utilized while assigned to the MGSF, but provide benefits to the officer and
the department beyond the scope of the MGSF. Officers of the LLPD are
encouraged to investigate their own cases as far as they are able to do.
