Gang Strike Force investigators must be full -time and dedicated to the gang prevention, <br />intervention, investigation and prosecution. Gang officers assigned must be committed for <br />the full year. <br />3. The investigator must be provided with a vehicle (actual expenses may covered by the grant) <br />and the investigator must come outfitted with basic equipment (gun, handcuffs, vest, etc). <br />4. Participating agencies must agree to enter data into GangNet and any other statewide <br />system implemented for the purpose of information sharing. <br />5. The gang investigator must be available to assist other gang officers in the surrounding or <br />metropolitan area as a part of the statewide effort. <br />6. Net forfeiture proceeds related to the work of the strike force must be claimed and used for <br />the benefit of the strike force effort. <br />FUNDING AVAILABLE <br />Up to $40,000 can be requested to support each full -time officer assigned to the Metro Gang <br />Strike Force and up to $50,000 for each full -time officer assigned to the St. Cloud Metro Gang <br />Strike Force. You may request funding for one or more officers. There is no match requirement <br />for this funding. Agencies chosen to participate will receive funding for gang investigators <br />based upon the overall needs of the strike forces. For the Metro Gang Strike Force, additional <br />funding provides for the general operating support of the strike force including site costs, <br />training, communications, investigative funds and computer support. <br />Grants will be for 12 months with funding to begin January 1, 2008. Grants may be extended for <br />an additional 12 months pending available funding and acceptable performance. <br />APPLICATION PROCESS <br />All applications will consist of a Project Information Sheet, narrative and budget. All <br />certifications governing compliance with State and program requirements such as worker's <br />compensation, data privacy, financial compliance, affirmative action, asset forfeiture, <br />confidential funds management, and intelligence sharing will be included in the grant <br />agreement.
