EOC Logistics <br />Health and Medical <br />Immediate Concerns <br />Logistics Section Checklist: <br />❑ Report to the EOC <br />❑ Obtain briefing for Incident Command. Prepare Initial report to Emergency Manager. <br />❑ Assess if a 24hr /day and /or extended operation is needed. Make staffing assessments and <br />consider mutual aid. <br />❑ Identify any public health concerns that must be addressed immediately. Is a public warning <br />necessary? If so consult with PIO for information dissemination to the media. <br />❑ Coordinate with clinics, hospitals and nursing homes to assess their needs, help them obtain <br />resources, and ensure necessary services are being provided. <br />❑ Coordinate with neighboring community health and medical organizations and with State and <br />Federal officials on matters related to assistance from other jurisdictions, including Federal <br />assistance. (MDH, USPHS, CDC, etc.) <br />❑ Coordinate incoming groups such as American Red Cross, Salvation Army and Disaster <br />Medical Assistance Teams (DMAT) as well as screening individual health and medical <br />volunteers; ensure that positive ID and proof of Licensure is made for all volunteers. <br />• <br />❑ Coordinate the location, procurement, screening, and allocation of health and medical supplies <br />and resources, including human resources, required to support health and medical operations. <br />❑ Provide information to the PIO regarding media releases on number of injuries and deaths. <br />❑ Provide health and medical services information to EM. <br />57 <br />
