State of Minnesota 2009 Citizen Corps Project Application Citizen Corps Name: Lino Lakes Police Department Measurable goals for the Community Resource Program Manager Position Program Manager Goals Completion _ Date Evaluate current Lino Lakes Citizen Corps groups (VIPS, CERT, Citizen Corps Council) to determine strengths, weaknesses, needs and develop an action plan to increase the number of volunteers, increase the utilization of current volunteers, and improve communication and collaboration among the groups, and integrate the groups through combined trainings Ongoing implementation of action plan 4th quarter 2010 1St quarter of 2011- 1st quarter of 2012 Develop a recruitment and retention plan to increase number of active Community Emergency Response Team and VIPS members; including community presentations, advertising, and developing monthly trainings for current Community Emergency Response Team members Coordinate monthly trainings for current CERT members to keep them active 4th quarter 2010 1st quarter of 2011- 1st quarter of 2012 Research, develop, and implement a cross - functional board made up of members of each Citizen Corps group to improve communication and develop supplemental funding sources to support each Citizen Corps program 1St quarter 2011 Increase emergency management efforts in the city by ensuring all volunteers are trained and integrated into the Emergency Management plan 3rd - -4th quarter 2011 Increase awareness in the community by presenting educational seminars on emergency management and crime prevention. Train and utilize volunteers to present emergency management/crime prevention seminars 1st quarter of 2011 -1st quarter of 2012 Develop training exercises with neighboring agencies and volunteers in preparation for large scale disasters 1st quarter 2012 •
