Approach <br />6 <br />Preliminary Vision <br />Development and <br />Strategic Issue <br />Identification <br />Conduct a 4 -6 hour facilitated session including the <br />following participants: <br />• City Council <br />• Invited leadership (or designees) of various <br />boards and commissions <br />• Staff Steering Committee <br />Audience participation technology will be used at this <br />meeting to maximize participation in the time allotted for <br />this session. The agenda for this meeting would include: <br />• Debriefing on major themes from the first <br />session to capture relevant future local and <br />regional trends that could impact Lino Lakes <br />• Initial vision discussion how do we want to <br />define Lino Lakes in 2030 <br />• Identify strength, weaknesses, opportunities, and <br />threats (SWOT analysis) <br />• Test and modify initial vision concepts <br />• Frame strategic issues using short- and long -term <br />time horizons <br />• Create preliminary vision <br />Community <br />Outreach <br />The primary objectives of outreach efforts will be to <br />provide a brief overview of themes emerging through the <br />environmental scan and to obtain feedback on the <br />preliminary vision developed by the Council leadership <br />team. <br />Recommended minimum activities include: <br />• Articles in the City's newsletters <br />• Cable television programming <br />• Information on the web site <br />• Four town meetings held in different locations <br />facilitated by Springsted using audience <br />participation technology <br />Optional activities can include but are not limited to: <br />• Additional Town meetings with audience <br />participation technology <br />• Key informant interviews <br />• Intercept (person -on- the - street) interviews <br />designed to get feedback from hard -to -reach <br />audiences <br />• Focus groups <br />• Interactive web site that allows residents to react <br />to information and respond to specific questions <br />Adopted Vision <br />• Community feedback will be summarized and <br />presented to the City Council, City board and <br />Lino Lakes, Minnesota.
