• <br />• <br />• <br />Dwelling, Single Family Detached. A dwelling which is designed for and <br />occupied by not more than one family and surrounded by open space or yards <br />and which is not attached to any other dwelling by any means. <br />Dwelling, Townhouse. A one - family dwelling in a row of at least three (3) such <br />units in which each unit has its own front and rear access to the outside, no unit <br />is located over another unit, and each unit is separated from any other unit by <br />one or more common fire resistant walls. <br />Dwelling, Two - Family. A structure containing two dwelling units, each of which <br />is totally separated from the other by an unpierced wall extending from ground to <br />roof or an unpierced ceiling and floor extending from exterior wall to exterior wall, <br />except for a common stairwell exterior to both dwelling units. <br />Dwelling Unit. One or more rooms, designed, occupied or intended for <br />occupancy as separate living quarters, with cooking, sleeping and sanitary <br />facilities provided within the dwelling unit for the exclusive use of a single family <br />maintaining a household. <br />Easement. A grant of one or more of the property rights by the property owner <br />to and /or for the use by the public, a corporation or another person or entity. <br />Elderly (Senior Citizen) Housing. A public agency owned or controlled <br />multiple dwelling building with open occupancy limited to persons over sixty (60) <br />years of age. <br />Essential Services. The erection, construction, alteration, or maintenance by <br />public utilities or municipal departments of underground or overhead telephone, <br />gas, electrical, communication, water or sewer transmission, distribution <br />collection, supply or disposal systems including poles, wires, mains, drains, <br />sewers, pipes, conduits, cables, fire alarm boxes, police call boxes, traffic <br />signals, hydrants and other similar equipment and accessories in connection <br />therewith for the furnishing of adequate service by such private or public utilities <br />or municipal departments. Personal wireless service and commercial <br />broadcasting antennas and towers shall not be considered an essential service. <br />Existing Use. The use of a lot or structure at the time of the enactment of a <br />zoning ordinance. <br />Exterior Storage /Storage Yards. An outside area where equipment, vehicles, <br />trailers, or material relating to the principal use of a parcel of land is stored. This <br />includes semi - trucks and trailers. The stored items are not for sale or display but <br />are used in the everyday operation of the principal use. Also referred to as <br />"outdoor storage."
